About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking hardworking and reliable individuals to join the Logistics Department as Laundry Workers. This role is critical to maintaining hygiene standards and ensuring the timely delivery of clean linen to hospitals and clinics. Successful candidates will perform routine laundry tasks, operate equipment, and comply with health and safety regulations.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- ABET Level 02 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience:
- No experience required.
Knowledge & Skills
- Understanding of laundry procedures and working environment.
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to perform routine tasks and physical labour.
- Ability to liaise with stakeholders and work effectively in a team.
- Preparedness to work under pressure, rotate shifts, and perform extra duties when required.
- Legal requirement: Employees must wear protective clothing at all times.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Sort and count dirty linen received from different hospitals.
- Prepare and dispatch clean linen to clients promptly.
- Operate laundry machines and equipment for washing dirty linen.
- Receive soiled linen from hospitals and clinics.
- Issue and deliver clean linen to various healthcare facilities.
- Pack clean linen onto trolleys and into linen bags for distribution.
- Maintain cleanliness of the laundry area.
- Perform any other duties delegated by the supervisor.

Salary & Benefits
- Annual package: R138,486 per annum.
