About the Role
The Department of Health is seeking reliable and detail-oriented individuals to join the Finance Directorate as Messengers (Medical Records). This role is critical in ensuring the accurate and timely movement of patient files and medical records between hospital departments, supporting efficient healthcare delivery and compliance with administrative standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Educational Qualification:
- Grade 12 (Matric).
- Experience:
- No experience required.
- Added Advantage:
- Willingness to work shifts and public holidays.
- Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment.
Knowledge & Skills
- Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
- Good verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of messenger procedures and working environment.
- Familiarity with Batho Pele principles and customer service standards.
- Ability to perform routine tasks and maintain accurate records.
- Planning and organizing skills for efficient file handling.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Collect patient files from clinics, wards, and casualty departments.
- Check and ensure all files are entered in the control register before delivery.
- Sign for files collected from wards and maintain accountability.
- Do not accept loose documents; ensure files are complete before transport.
- Deliver files to relevant departments promptly and accurately.
- Prepare ward files for casualty and Counter A and ensure timely delivery.
- Rotate across various sections as required to support operational needs.

Salary & Benefits
- Annual package: R138,486 per annum.
