Heineken Beverages (South Africa) (Pty) Ltd is inviting applications for a dynamic, motivated individual to join our manufacturing team in Springs. The successful applicant will assume the role of Production Administration Assistant, directly reporting to the Packaging Controller, and will play a vital part in supporting the smooth and efficient operation of the production environment.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Production Administration Assistant, your main responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • General Administration & Governance: Ensure accurate, timely, and consistent execution of administrative duties across the production function. This includes maintaining proper records, handling routine documentation, and ensuring compliance with internal governance policies.
  • Production Order Management: Oversee and execute the accurate confirmation of production orders. This includes verifying the issuance of bulk materials, ensuring proper allocation of machine hours, and confirming labour time in alignment with system and operational requirements.
  • Compliance & Procedures: Enforce and adhere to all internal control and compliance (ICC) processes. You will ensure that all work is conducted in line with prescribed standards and procedures to maintain the integrity and efficiency of production processes.
  • Reporting: Compile and submit weekly and monthly reports that include key production metrics. These reports will cover critical areas such as Overall Packaging Index (OPI), material losses and write-offs, unplanned machine downtime, and water consumption tracking.
  • Budget Support: Assist in preparing and managing departmental budgets. This includes tracking expenditure, identifying cost-saving opportunities, and ensuring spending aligns with strategic and operational goals.
  • Procurement & Inventory Support: Facilitate the ordering and stock management of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), stationery, and other operational supplies. This includes monitoring usage and ensuring availability of necessary resources without incurring excess or waste.
  • Total Productive Maintenance (TPM): Support the implementation of TPM within the production department. Your involvement will contribute to increased efficiency, reduced breakdowns, and enhanced asset reliability.
  • Variance Monitoring: Effectively monitor and investigate any variances in production orders. Work closely with the packaging and finance teams to resolve discrepancies and identify trends or recurring issues.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

To succeed in this role, candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications, skills, and attributes:

  • Education: A National Senior Certificate (Grade 12) is required.
  • Work Experience: 1–2 years of relevant experience in a production or FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) environment will be highly advantageous, though not strictly mandatory.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, with advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
    • Prior experience with SAP in a manufacturing or packaging setting will be considered a distinct advantage.
    • Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail are essential.
  • Communication & Interpersonal Skills:
    • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
    • Strong interpersonal and persuasive skills to effectively engage with team members and ensure tasks are completed as required.
  • Time Management & Initiative:
    • Effective time management and multitasking abilities.
    • A self-starter who can work independently and proactively, even under pressure.
    • Innovative, resourceful, and solutions-focused mindset.
  • Work Ethic:
    • Willingness to work overtime as needed, based on operational demands.
    • Dependable and resilient with a strong sense of accountability.
