The purpose of this role is to deliver an exceptional customer shopping experience by ensuring effective stock replenishment, accurate merchandising, consistent housekeeping, and efficient processing of transactions at till points.

Key Purpose of the Role
The P27 Sales Associate plays a crucial role in:
- Ensuring that customers receive friendly, professional, and efficient service.
- Supporting store operations by replenishing stock, maintaining store presentation, and assisting with promotions.
- Processing transactions accurately and securely at the tills.
- Protecting company assets by adhering to risk management procedures.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience Required
Knowledge & Skills:
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage customers positively.
- Strong communication skills, fluent in English (additional languages are advantageous).
- Numerical proficiency to handle cash transactions accurately.
- High levels of tenacity, resilience, and energy.
- Target-driven and self-motivated with a strong work ethic.
- Ability to remain professional and calm in a high-pressure retail environment.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a retail environment will be advantageous.
- Exposure to cashiering, merchandising, or customer-facing roles will be beneficial.
Key Responsibilities
1. Customer Service Excellence
- Provide friendly, helpful, and professional service to ensure every customer has a great shopping experience.
- Assist customers in locating products and provide advice on available items and promotions.
- Handle customer complaints and queries promptly and professionally, escalating issues to management when necessary.
- Consistently demonstrate Ackermans’ values by creating a welcoming and positive shopping atmosphere.
2. Cashier Duties & Transaction Processing
- Accurately process all sales transactions, including cash, debit/credit card payments, lay-bys, and customer refunds.
- Balance tills at the end of each shift to ensure accuracy and accountability.
- Identify and report transaction discrepancies or suspicious activity to the supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality and security when handling cash and customer information.
3. Merchandising & Stock Management
- Replenish stock on the sales floor, ensuring product availability for customers.
- Merchandise products according to store layout plans and visual merchandising guidelines.
- Ensure all products are correctly priced, labelled, and displayed.
- Keep up-to-date with current promotions and sales events to assist customers effectively.
- Assist with general housekeeping duties to maintain a neat, safe, and appealing store environment.
4. Risk Management & Loss Prevention
- Tag merchandise in line with company security policies.
- Remain alert to shoplifting, fraudulent activities, and unusual customer behaviour, reporting immediately to management.
- Participate in stock takes, inventory counts, and audits.
- Follow all security and risk protocols to protect company assets.
