Purpose of the Role

The Bank Better Champion acts as the first point of contact for clients visiting the branch. You will be responsible for creating a welcoming atmosphere, guiding clients through self-service channels, managing branch traffic, and assisting with basic banking queries. This role is pivotal in ensuring that clients leave the branch with a positive impression of Capitec Bank.


Key Responsibilities

1. Client Engagement & Customer Experience

  • Greet and welcome clients warmly as they arrive, ensuring they feel valued.
  • Create a friendly, professional atmosphere that sets the tone for their banking journey.
  • Assist clients with general inquiries such as transaction histories, account balances, and product features.
  • Support clients in understanding and accessing Capitec’s products and services.

2. Self-Service and Remote Banking Support

  • Assist clients in using ATMs, online banking, and mobile app features.
  • Educate clients on how to navigate digital channels for everyday transactions.
  • Promote the use of self-service tools to improve efficiency and reduce waiting times.

3. Queue and Traffic Management

  • Organize and manage branch queues effectively to minimize waiting time.
  • Direct clients to the appropriate staff or service points based on their needs.
  • Ensure smooth branch operations by balancing foot traffic with service availability.

4. Cross-Selling and Product Awareness

  • Identify opportunities to inform and educate clients about Capitec products (e.g., savings accounts, credit facilities, insurance, or loans).
  • Actively contribute to branch sales and service goals by referring clients to relevant consultants for more complex needs.

5. Teamwork and Collaboration

  • Work closely with branch team members to ensure seamless client service.
  • Provide support to colleagues during busy periods.
  • Participate in branch meetings, contributing ideas to enhance client satisfaction.

6. Compliance and Policy Adherence

  • Stay updated with Capitec Bank policies, procedures, and financial product knowledge.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance standards to ensure safe banking practices.
  • Maintain client confidentiality and handle sensitive information with integrity.

Minimum Requirements

Education

  • Essential: Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate.

Experience

  • No banking experience required (training will be provided).
  • Prior experience in customer service, retail, or call centre environments is advantageous.
