Introduction
The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) is entrusted with administering social assistance to millions of citizens who rely on grants for survival and dignity. In pursuit of strengthening its capacity to deliver efficient, client-centered services, SASSA is recruiting eight (8) Grants Administrators across multiple local offices in Limpopo Province.
This role presents a unique opportunity for service-driven individuals to contribute to the public sector while gaining valuable administrative experience. As a Grants Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that grants are processed fairly, efficiently, and in compliance with legislation.

Purpose of the Role
To provide professional, client-oriented support in the administration of social grant services. The incumbent will ensure accurate capturing, processing, and maintenance of grant applications and beneficiary information while delivering excellent customer care.
Key Responsibilities
1. Grant Application Processing
- Screen and capture all grant applications with accuracy and efficiency.
- Conduct beneficiary maintenance, ensuring records are updated in line with agency policies.
- Administer medical bookings and assessments for applicants requiring further evaluation.
2. Client Service and Customer Care
- Provide professional and courteous grant customer care services at the office and during outreach programmes.
- Offer off-site grant application services to ensure accessibility in underserved communities.
- Respond to client queries and provide information about grant processes and requirements.
3. Document Management
- Perform scanning, batching, and filing of grant-related documents in compliance with record-keeping standards.
- Ensure that documentation is properly captured, safeguarded, and accessible for auditing or verification.
4. Administrative and Clerical Support
- Maintain accurate administrative records to support efficient grant processing.
- Assist with data capturing, monitoring, and reporting functions.
- Provide general office support as required to maintain operational effectiveness.
5. Compliance and Risk Management
- Ensure all processes comply with relevant legislation, regulations, and internal policies.
- Report irregularities, fraudulent activity, or risks to supervisors promptly.
- Support audit and verification activities by ensuring data and files are complete and accurate.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Senior Certificate (Grade 12 / NQF Level 4) plus a relevant National Diploma/Degree (NQF Level 6 or 7).
Skills and Competencies
- Computer literacy is essential (MS Office Suite).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Accuracy, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure.
- Planning, organizing, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
